Brief Biography
Mr Kunene is a Chief Information Officer and digital transformation leader with almost two decades of experience in the ICT industry and more than 14 years of service across the South African public sector, including National, Provincial and Local Government, as well as public agencies. He has over ten years of experience operating at the Senior Management and EXCO level, where he has led the development of ICT Strategies, Digital Transformation Strategies and implementation plans that enable business strategy and improve service delivery through innovation.
He holds a Bachelor of Management Information Systems, an Honours degree in Information Systems, and a Master of Commerce in Information Management. He is currently enrolled on a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Information Systems, reflecting his commitment to advancing both academic and practical excellence in the field.
