New Global CIO Member Profile: What's Changed and How a Public Portfolio Can Help You in Your Career

The professional IT community Global CIO has updated its member dashboard. This brings a new approach to how IT leaders interact with the community, track their activity, and manage their professional reputation.

Why was this necessary?

Global CIO regularly receives requests from IT executives to write letters of recommendation or confirm their competencies. However, the community can only recommend people it knows personally — through speaking engagements, projects, or participation in competitions. Instead of responding to each request individually, a system was developed that allows members to build a public profile based on their actual activity within the community.

In early June 2026, we held a webinar detailing all the changes and features of the new profile. The recording is available at the link below.

What is this webinar about?

  • About the new user profile on the Global CIO portal.

  • How scores, ratings, and achievements become practical career tools.

  • A public portfolio for IT leaders isn't just about providing additional information about yourself, but also about demonstrating that your expertise is recognized and valued by your peers in the professional community.

  • Learn how to use your profile: from uploading photos and settings to adding projects and certificates.

What you will see in the video:

  • There are two ways to get a public profile: by earning points (500+) or by joining the Global CIO IT Leaders Club.

  • Here's an example of what a completed profile looks like.

  • Points are awarded for everything from basic participation in events to victories in the Project of the Year competition and the Top 100 rating.

  • How bonuses work and why it's important to submit a request yourself through the feedback form in your personal account.

  • Where can I enable a public profile in the settings and get a link for my resume?

Who will find this video useful?

For CIOs, digital transformation managers, and technical leaders — anyone who wants their experience and achievements to be recognized not only within their company but also within their professional community. This guide will show you how to use your new profile to show your colleagues and potential employers that you're known, your work is visible, and your opinions are valued.
