How to build the most reliable corporate information system

Sergey Karakhanov, Head of Technology Support Department, SberBank

The history of the Subsidiary Bank of Sberbank of Russia Joint Stock Company in Kazakhstan begins at the end of 2006, when Sberbank of Russia acquired a 99.99% stake in TeksakaBank, recognized as the bank with the best level of customer service by National Business magazine.

In 2007, the Bank received a license to conduct banking and other operations carried out by banks in national and foreign currencies. In the same year, the authorized capital of the Bank was increased by almost 15 times and amounted to 29 billion tenge (more than 240 million dollars), which allowed SberBank to become one of the 10 largest banks in the Republic of Kazakhstan in terms of authorized capital. SberBank has extensive ties with the largest banks in the world, as well as vast experience in working with clients and partners engaged in various areas of the economy.

To date, SberBank has a branch network consisting of 110 structural units, 17 of which are branches.

SberBank has completed a unique project - a corporate information system that has become much more reliable and can ensure the continuity of the bank's business in the event of an emergency or threat of an emergency.

On June 11, 2022, the bank's information systems were switched from the main data center to a disaster-proof backup data center, the Bank fully worked at the backup data center for 12 hours, and all systems returned to the main data center without data loss.

This project is unique and important not only for Sberbank, but also for the entire banking sector and the IT industry in Kazakhstan.

How the project was implemented from setting the task, designing, implementing the IT infrastructure to comprehensive testing, Sergey Karakhanov told in his speech.
