Goals

The main goal of the project for the development and implementation of an analytical reporting information system for evaluating the effectiveness of business operations (hereinafter referred to as MIS) is to ensure transparency and traceability of expenses and income related to business areas, products, territories. The imperative for most project decisions is the simplicity and clarity of the logic of calculation, reporting and analytics for business leaders.

The need to provide shareholders and top management of the company with operational information about the effectiveness of all major business processes and operations at once. The goal was achieved with the help of convenient mobile and desktop analytical tools (dashboards), reflecting operational information with a minimum delay from the moment it is stored in source systems.

In order to eliminate management errors, it was necessary to implement a fully automatic solution for data quality control based on business rules.

It was important to provide shareholders and top management of the company with visual analytical tools to access all information 24/7 from anywhere in the world from any available device.

The uniqueness of the project

The uniqueness lies in the fact that the project has created not only a technological platform, but also a business practice of operational business analysis, as well as the possibility of communication integration of departments using a mobile analytical platform.

At the same time, a light mobile interactive interface, a powerful data quality management system and an automated comparison system for management and accounting were developed. This approach made it possible to provide a convenient communication basis for business management, and the necessary transparency of the origin of data, which created confidence in the new management system.

This approach made it possible to immediately provide shareholders and top management with a comprehensive picture of the state of the enterprise. At the same time, the data model can subsequently be detailed, providing tools to other levels of company management.

The developed solution allowed the company's management to obtain information on the commercial effectiveness of all business operations within the framework of a plan / factual analysis with allocation to various levels of analytics (CFD, products, transactions, etc.) based on information from management P&L, management and accounting records.

Difficulty of implementation

The key complexity of the project lies at the intersection of technological, organizational and methodological issues. Development was carried out in an agile approach.

Coverage of all major business processes of the holding required

  1. An initial comprehensive analysis of the methodology for analyzing and accounting for an enterprise in order to develop a unified view of the analytics of the effectiveness of business operations.

  2. Phased development of UX and UI - to solve the main issues of managers in 3-4 clicks.

Project Description

The R-Pharm group of companies is one of the leaders in the Russian pharmaceutical market. Field of activity: development, research, production, market launch of a wide range of medicines. The company operates throughout the Russian Federation and the CIS countries, the USA, Germany, Japan and India.

The main results of the project:

  • Business leaders received a mobile tool for analyzing the effectiveness of the main types of business with details to any operation;

  • Managers received a set of information panels with the ability to answer basic questions about dynamics, marginality, forecast of the implementation of plans - on the main performance indicators of departments in a wide range of analytics;

  • The company received a single point of access to obtain the necessary data on management accounting and commercial indicators;

  • A specially developed methodology for accounting for actual results provided the management with transparency of activities and prompt decision-making.

The architectural system is

  • QCD, including the entire historical dataset of management and accounting, functional data marts,

  • Visualization tools and detailed analytics.

As a result of the project, the system was put into operation and allowed management at all levels to get a tool that provides a comprehensive and detailed view of the company's commercial performance at any time. At the same time, the implemented methodology is not limited to management, accounting, or only P&L of the company, but represents the most effective set of these data.
