Increasing the productivity and fault tolerance of the company's infrastructure

Project objectives:

• Reduce server unavailability

• Reduce the number of LAN hangups

• Increase cluster fault tolerance

• Increase the speed of accounting systems

• Increase the security of information on servers

• Increase information space for data storage

• Dedicate a separate server for development and testing

Project Results
All project goals were fully achieved:
• Separate server for development and testing - created
• Information space for data storage – increased
• Security of information on servers has increased
• Number of local network hangs - none
• Number of servers unavailable - tend to 0
• Cluster fault tolerance - increased
• The speed of accounting systems has increased

The uniqueness of the project

During the project, the entire company infrastructure was redesigned:
• A new digital automatic telephone exchange was deployed
• New main server deployed
• A new backup main server has been deployed (a mirror of the main server)
• Test server deployed (for development and testing)
• Deployed network storage (NAS)

Difficulty of implementation
One of the most difficult moments in the project was making the decision to migrate. Significant investments in equipment and high risks of errors at various stages required perfect planning and responsibility in decision making.
The success of the project is 100% ensured by a team of professionals and management support.
Technological complexity is associated with the amount of information stored, the number and volume of databases and the time required for physical transfer.
Limitations on the downtime of the entire infrastructure and the need for guaranteed data safety in any negative scenario required very clear planning and preparation.

The project took place in several stages:
• Selection, analysis and testing of necessary equipment
• Consolidation of the entire volume of information
• Deploying a failover cluster + NAS
• Transition to new infrastructure

As a result of the project, the entire company infrastructure was redesigned:
