Goals
  1. Improving financial literacy among the population of Kazakhstan, particularly the younger generation;
  2. Ensuring the demand for and usage of bank cards, as well as increasing transaction volumes through them;
  3. Expanding client activity within the Bank's financial ecosystem by providing children with access to the Bank's mobile application.
Project Results
The program launch had a positive impact on the following metrics:
  • Increased number of active logins by parents to the banking application;
  • A fivefold growth in the portfolio of children's cards;
  • A fifteenfold increase in MAU (Monthly Active Users) among children;
  • Growth in the volume of cashless transactions made with children's cards;
  • The Kundelik website ranked among the top five Google search queries in 2023.
The results of the 2023–2024 academic year program demonstrated the following outcomes: approximately 420,000 students from the Kundelik system participated in the initiative, earning around 27 million excellent grades (10 points), with a total of 2,729,000,000 tenge credited.

The leading regions participating in the program were Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Almaty Region, Akmola Region, Zhambyl Region, Kyzylorda Region, Pavlodar Region, North Kazakhstan Region, Zhetisu Region, West Kazakhstan Region, and Kostanay Region.

The uniqueness of the project

On the eve of the new school year, Halyk Bank announced a large-scale new program for school students called "Bonuses for Excellent Grades." Students in grades 5–11 earned bonuses for excellent grades recorded in their electronic diaries. This initiative allowed students to earn bonuses based on their monthly grades, motivating them to study harder and gain more knowledge.

Difficulty of implementation
There were no significant challenges during the implementation process. Each team followed the established schedule and work plan. Support was required during the project launch phase, including a well-structured Q&A system for the teams handling potential customer inquiries, a clear customer journey, and a user-friendly service. The combined efforts and professionalism of the teams played a decisive role in achieving our shared goals.

In collaboration with one of the largest EdTech companies specializing in the digitalization of the education system with over 7 years of experience, Halyk launched the "Bonuses for Excellent Grades" project to motivate students to excel in their studies. The growth of any society starts at an early age, and this joint initiative was developed to encourage students to learn and improve their financial literacy.

  2. A unique loyalty program that enhances academic performance by rewarding excellent grades;
  3. The ability to purchase goods and services using accumulated bonuses and manage their own funds.

  1. Monitoring their children's academic progress through access to the electronic diary in the Bank’s app;
  2. Transferring funds to the child’s card and tracking their spending;
  3. Supporting the development of their child’s financial literacy.
