Difficulty of implementation
Implementing Project Samridhi was highly challenging due to its enterprise-wide scope, integration complexity, and tight nine-month timeline. The transformation spanned five manufacturing plants with diverse legacy systems, each following different processes and data structures. Major difficulties included migrating decades of master and transactional data, harmonizing finance and production across entities, and integrating multiple satellite systems—LIMS, CRM, Ariba, TMS, and banking APIs—into a single SAP RISE environment.

Project Samridhi – Deepak Nitrite SAP Implementation

Project Samridhi marks Deepak Nitrite Limited’s large-scale digital transformation through SAP S/4HANA RISE Private Cloud. Initiated in May 2024 and successfully live by February 2025, it unified five manufacturing plants—Dahej, Nandesari, Roha, Taloja, and Hyderabad—into one intelligent, data-driven enterprise platform, now being extended to Deepak Clean Tech Limited.

The goal was to build a single digital core connecting finance, manufacturing, supply chain, and governance. The initiative modernized legacy systems and created a foundation for AI-based analytics, real-time visibility, and sustainability compliance.

Main objectives included process standardization, paperless finance and procurement, and AI-enabled forecasting through BigQuery and Tableau. The project aligns with ISO 27001 and Responsible AI principles to ensure secure and ethical digitalization.

The implementation, led by PwC India, followed a hybrid Agile model aligned with SAP Activate and Signavio best practices. Governance was driven through SAP Cloud ALM dashboards and weekly steering reviews involving business, IT, and finance leaders.

The enterprise landscape includes:

Manufacturing digitalization automated production reporting and COA generation through LIMS integration, increasing user productivity by 70 % and cutting batch tracking time by 65 %. COA generation fell from 20 minutes to under 1 minute. Coal management became fully automated with real-time boiler efficiency tracking.

In the supply chain, integration of pricing data and TMS routes enabled real-time pricing simulation and EXIM automation. Procurement costs fell 15 %, invoice processing sped up 70 %, and documentation time dropped 60 %. Transportation management delivered 30 % logistics savings and real-time vehicle tracking across sites.

Procurement transformation via Ariba digitized supplier onboarding and tendering, raising operational efficiency by 60 % and negotiation effectiveness by 15 %. Supplier transparency reached 100 %, and sourcing cycles shortened by 16 days.

Maintenance modernization with SAP PM enabled predictive and preventive schedules, improving equipment turnaround by 70 % and doubling visibility into plant reliability metrics.

The integration architecture connects SAP with CRM, Ariba, LIMS, Weighbridge, Gate Entry, and Banking APIs through Informatica ETL and SAP BTP. GCP BigQuery acts as a central data lake for analytics, AI, and process mining, providing a single source of truth for decision-making.

Cybersecurity is embedded by design with Azure AD MFA, CyberArk PAM, Zscaler, and ISO 27001 controls. The Responsible AI framework within the ERP ensures transparency of AI-based insights via similarity-score validation.

Within nine months, DNL achieved a stable go-live across five plants and ten modules, exceeding industry benchmarks for stability and user adoption. Project Samridhi now serves as a replicable digital template for future Deepak Group entities and a foundation for AI-driven, sustainable manufacturing.
