- Goals
- The primary goal of the Order to Cash(O2C) AI automation for Contract Set up and Insights project is to revolutionize the contract setup and review process by significantly reducing manual intervention and enhancing productivity. By leveraging advanced AI technologies, the project aims to automate repetitive and time-consuming tasks involved in contract data analysis, ensuring greater accuracy and efficiency. This transformation not only streamlines operations within the O2C process but also empowers teams to focus on higher-value activities, accelerates turnaround times, and supports strategic decision-making. Ultimately, the project seeks to deliver measurable improvements in operational performance, compliance, and resource utilization, setting a new benchmark for process excellence
- Project Results
-
-
6400+ active contracts and 4200+ monthly transactions
-
Time to create contract reduced from 7-8 hours to 4-5 hours, resulting in productivity boost by 40%
-
The uniqueness of the project
What sets the Order to Cash(O2C) AI automation for Contract Set up and Insights project apart is its pioneering integration of AI into traditionally manual and labor-intensive contract management activities. The solution introduces intelligent automation to extract, validate, and analyze contract data, addressing complexities and variability across diverse contract types. By embedding agentic AI for compliance checks and leveraging scalable data architectures, the project delivers rapid, actionable insights and ensures adherence to regulatory standards. This innovative approach not only reduces human effort but also enhances accuracy, risk mitigation, and decision support, making it a standout example of digital transformation in contract lifecycle management.
- Used software
- SAP ABAP, Fiori, Azure openAI, SAP document AI, .net
- Difficulty of implementation
- Implementing the automated contract creation, contract mining, and revenue recognition projects at LTIMindtree posed several challenges, primarily due to the complexity of integrating AI with existing enterprise systems like SAP. For contract creation, the AI struggled with accurately extracting key fields from diverse SOW and PO formats, requiring extensive prompt fine-tuning and iterative testing to improve field-level accuracy, especially for critical data like customer and contracting entities. The team had to develop OData services and APIs to fetch master data for validation, which introduced delays due to the need for cross-functional coordination and technical feasibility assessments. In contract mining, aligning AI-extracted data with SAP’s structured fields demanded rigorous mapping logic and user interface enhancements to ensure usability and compliance. Revenue recognition automation faced hurdles in standardizing inputs across contracts and ensuring audit-readiness, particularly for fixed-bid engagements where margin visibility was limited. These projects required close collaboration between business and technical teams, robust governance, and continuous refinement to overcome data inconsistencies, system limitations, and evolving stakeholder expectations.
- Project Description
-
Automated Contract Processing - Implemented AI-driven automation to extract and populate 40+ contract fields from SOWs and POs, reducing manual effort and achieving 40%-time savings. This ensured timely contract setup, enabling accurate resource allocation, utilization, and revenue recognition.
Agentic AI for Compliance - Developed an Agentic AI solution to review SOWs against revenue recognition policies and accounting standards, improving compliance and reducing risk.
Scalable Data Architecture - Built a scalable data lake architecture integrated with a Generative AI layer to ingest, transform, and analyse contract data. Delivered rapid, interactive insights to empower leaders with timely decision-making for upcoming deals.
