The updated new voice assistant will be available for Yandex Browser users on PCs and smartphones, as well as in the mobile app later this year. It is not yet clear whether Kazakhstan will use the name "Alice", which is typical for Yandex's voice assistant, or whether a local name will be chosen. It should be noted that Yandex already provides search and navigation services in Kazakh, reports Alfa.kz.
According to the company's data, since the beginning of this year the local audience of Yandex map services has increased 1.5 times. Monthly audience of Yandex in Kazakhstan is about 10 million users.
According to the StatCounter service, as of August 2023, Yandex Browser's market share in Kazakhstan on all devices, including smartphones, PCs and tablets, amounted to 5.91%. Safari held 19.06% of the market, while Chrome was the leader with a 63.99% share. The share of Yandex search engine in the country is 10.38%, with Google remaining the market leader with 89.19% share.
