Digital tenge launched in Kazakhstan

A solemn ceremony of launching the digital tenge was held in Kazakhstan within the framework of the XI Congress of Financiers. Chairman of the National Payment Corporation Binur Zhalenov conducted the first transaction.

"I would like to note that this realization is the world's first debit payment card linked to an account in the digital currency of the central bank," he emphasized at the event.

According to Zhalenov, the republic "has built a technology that integrates existing payment cards with the DH platform." This in turn makes it possible to "pay in CT anywhere in the world using ApplePay, SamsungPay and other devices".
