Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are now available for Meta Quest VR headsets

Microsoft and Meta announced the launch of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint for the Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest Pro VR headsets . Previously, the companies similarly rolled out support for Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Microsoft office programs for VR devices can be downloaded from the store. The applications can be used by owners of the Oculus Quest headset, as well as later models of Meta virtual reality glasses.

The Android Central portal published a short video demonstrating the work of office programs with Meta Quest. The author also shows how Word, Excel, and PowerPoint can run side by side in a virtual reality environment.

The apps are designed to work in mixed reality, so users can continue to see what's happening outside the headset while they write documents in Word, create spreadsheets in Excel, or create presentations in PowerPoint.

Microsoft and Meta announced a collaboration in the field of virtual reality in October 2022. The companies agreed to roll out support for Microsoft Teams on Meta Quest, as well as other Microsoft solutions, including Outlook, Microsoft Intune and Azure Active Directory.

Microsoft is also developing Office and Teams apps for Apple's new Vision Pro mixed reality headset. Sales of the corporation's VR glasses will start in early 2024. The cost of the solution will be $3.5 thousand, but Appleis workingon a more affordable version of the headset, which, according to rumors, will cost from $1.5 to $2 thousand
