Microsoft has released a free Security-101 course to learn the basics of cybersecurity

Microsoft has published a free Security-101 course to learn the basics of cybersecurity. The company notes that the course only teaches basic principles and does not teach how to use specific tools or develop malicious scripts.

The course consists of seven lessons, including a short video, an article and links for a deeper study of the topic. Some lessons contain questions for self-testing of the material learned. Large topics have been divided into several parts to make them easier to study.

It is separately noted that the course introduces only basic concepts and does not include a detailed study of tools and approaches. With Security-101, you can gain basic knowledge and continue training in the advanced Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals program . After this, the company offers you to take the SC-900 exam .

The course materials are available for free in the open GitHub repository and on the official website . Microsoft previously released the Generative AI for Beginners course.
