Meta has implemented an AI assistant in its products

Meta Corporation announced the launch of a free AI assistant, Meta AI, on the WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Messenger platforms.

The assistant answers questions, generates images, and creates animations. It is based on the new large language model Llama 3.

“We believe Meta AI is the most intelligent AI assistant that you can use without restrictions,” said Mark Zuckerberg.

Meta AI is built into the search bar of WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Messenger apps, where users can ask questions. The press release provides examples of requests for restaurant recommendations, vacation planning, or tips on decorating a new apartment.

The assistant is also available on the official website, where users can get help solving math problems or writing a professional email.

According to Meta, the image creation feature will be available in beta on WhatsApp and the website. It works like this: first, users see a preview image when entering text, and MetaAI gives hints to adjust the final result. Illustrations can also be converted into animated GIFs and shared in instant messengers.

Meta introduced the AI assistant in September 2023. From April 19, 2024, the tool became available in several countries, including the United States, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

Let us recall that in April the corporation announced the introduction of a next-generation AI chip.

In recent years, the term “Internet of Things” (IoT) has become one of the most popular in the tech world. It promised to connect billions of devices. Sixty-eight IT executives from 15 countries, including Brazil, India, USA, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, and Indonesia participated in the project.
