The candidacy of the new head of the ICRIAP was agreed upon at a meeting of the Majilis Committee on Economic Reform and Regional Development.
Zhaslan Madiev graduated from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in 2004, from Columbia University in 2007, the School of International Relations and Public Administration under the Bolashak program, and in 2016 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Over the years, he worked at Alliance Bank JSC, Morgan Stanley, and Kazyna Sustainable Development Fund JSC. In 2009–2010, he was Deputy Chairman of the Board of Kazyna Capital Management JSC. In 2010–2011 - member of the board of directors, independent director of NPF Ular-Umit. In 2010–2014 - Deputy Chairman of the Board of Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC. In 2014–2015 - Deputy Director for Monetary Operations and Asset Management of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, member of the Board of Directors of National Investment Corporation JSC. In 2016 - Advisor to the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan. In 2017–2019, he was Vice President for Finance of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC. In 2019–2020 - Vice Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2020–2022 - Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms. In 2022 - First Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From October 2022 to the present - General Manager of Binance Kazakhstan.
