Bagdat Musin introduced the new head of JSC Kcell
Bagdat Musin, who took over Kazakhtelecom in early June , introduced the new CEO of Kcell JSC. Askar Zhambakin was elected Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of the company by the decision of the Board of Directors. Previously, he held the position of Vice Minister of Digital Development (since 2020), overseeing the digital transformation of public administration, business process reengineering, data management, Smart Data Ukimet and Digital Family Card projects at the MCRIAP under Musin, and took an active part in developing strategies for the development of the ICT industry, including e-government and reducing digital inequality, etc.
As Bagdat Musin noted, under the leadership of Askhat Uzbekov, Kcell JSC managed to achieve the status of the operator with the fastest mobile Internet in Kazakhstan based on the results of last year. In addition, as part of the consortium, the operator won the frequency auction for the deployment of the fifth-generation communication standard in the republic , and then, ahead of schedule and licensing obligations, installed hundreds of 5G base stations, ending 2023 with more than 500 5G base stations in the asset.

Askar Zhambakin is a graduate of the Almaty Institute of Power Engineering and Communications, specializing in Multichannel Telecommunication Systems, holds a Master's degree in Management and Information Systems from the University of Manchester, and a diploma in organizational leadership from Said Business School. He began his career in the industry as a communications technician at Air Kazakhstan, worked for several years as an engineer at Mobile Telecom-Service LLP (Tele2/Altel), worked at HSBC Bank Kazakhstan and a subsidiary of BI Group — Beintech LLP, headed the customer experience development department at Qazkom JSC, worked at the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, and was deputy director of the payment systems management and development department of the National Bank.
