Elon Musk's xAI Acquires Social Network X

Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI has acquired social media company X, formerly known as Twitter, in a deal that values X at $33 billion and was completed entirely through a stock swap.

The total transaction value is $45 billion, including $12 billion in debt.

According to Reuters, the purchase will allow Musk to spread the value of xAI — valued by investors at $80 billion — among X's co-investors. The integration of the two companies is also expected to make it easier to train Grok, a chatbot being developed by xAI.

Elon Musk, who also heads Tesla and SpaceX, said combining the resources, data, and talent of X and xAI would strengthen both companies. “The future of xAI and X is deeply intertwined,” he wrote in a post on X’s social media platform.
