"ChatGPT Go is designed for those who want to enjoy our popular features at a more affordable price," he said.
The company first made the plan available in India and Indonesia for $4.50. It is now also available in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, the Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam. Prices in other Asian countries may vary depending on local taxes.
For comparison, in other markets, the minimum Plus subscription costs $20. ChatGPT Pro is also available for $200 per month, while the Business plan costs $25.
ChatGPT Go increases message, image, and file upload limits by 10x, and provides twice the storage space compared to the free version.

The new subscription is gradually opening up to all users. In Cambodia, Laos, and Nepal, ChatGPT Go is already available on the web and Android, but is not yet available in the iOS app.
OpenAI is competing with Google in the affordable pricing segment. In September, the company launched the Google AI Plus plan, priced similarly to ChatGPT Go, in over 40 countries, including Ukraine, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Egypt, and others.
As a reminder, in October, OpenAI introduced a new feature that allows users to create apps directly within ChatGPT. This allows users to directly interact with services like Booking.com, Expedia, Spotify, Figma, Coursera, Zillow, Canva, and others.
