Microsoft will turn Windows 11 into the new Vista. A legendary feature from 16 years ago is revived

Windows 11 will feature "gadgets" from 16-year-old Windows Vista. These are widgets for the desktop, allowing you to quickly find out the weather forecast, sports results, to be aware of traffic jams and news, etc. Widgets are very popular in today's world - they have been in Android since about 2010, and even Apple integrated them into its iOS in 2020.

Operating system Windows 11, released in October 2021, will soon receive a feature that Windows-computer users first saw on their screens in 2007, according to the profile portal Windows Latest, Microsoft will build into its OS so-called "gadgets" - mini applications that can be attached to the start screen for quick access to certain functions or information.

Why this is needed

The concept of "gadgets" in Windows Vista was to expand the functionality of the desktop - from a dump of files on top of a beautiful image, it turned into a powerful tool. For example, "gadgets" could promptly inform the user about traffic jams or new air tickets to a particular country, they allowed to control the media player, quickly respond in messengers and much more.

In other words, "gadgets" allowed to manage numerous services and programs directly from the desktop without the need to switch between windows and web pages.

On all fumes.
According to Windows Latest, there was no exact date for the revival of "gadgets" at the time of this story, but Microsoft is very active in this area. It is possible that the "innovation" will appear in one of the upcoming updates for Windows 11 - a small or, conversely, cumulative, which Microsoft releases once every six months. Microsoft is currently working closely with third-party software developers to ensure that they do not overlook this new feature of the operating system.
