Goals

To create and implement a unified digital platform for managing the ordering and distribution of food for employees of the JSC Atomstroyexport branch in the Arab Republic of Egypt working on the construction of the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant. The project aims to increase transparency and accuracy of order tracking, automate the generation of reports and documentation, and minimize errors in food distribution.

Additional objectives included:

  • Reducing administrative costs
  • Improving communication between departments responsible for food services
  • Increasing employee satisfaction through a user-friendly mobile interface with multilingual support (Russian, English, and Arabic)
Project Results
  • Completely eliminated errors in food preparation and distribution

  • Order processing time reduced by more than 3 times

  • Created a unified order database with analytics and reporting capabilities

  • Increased transparency and manageability of the food service process

  • Connected more than 10,000 branch employees

  • Increased staff satisfaction levels

  • Optimizing food costs allows you to save significantly

  • Food distribution time reduced from 5-10 minutes per person to 0.5 minutes

The uniqueness of the project

The project was implemented under the unique conditions of international nuclear power plant construction, taking into account the cultural, linguistic, and technological characteristics of the region. The development covered the complete digitalization cycle of the food service process: from user order placement to QR code distribution and automatic confirmation of receipt. A key feature of the project was its integration with the internal IT infrastructure of Rosatom State Corporation's Engineering Division, operating 24/7 with 99.6% availability and supporting three interface languages.

The solution unified food accounting processes for a workforce of over 10,000 people at a remote foreign branch, ensuring high standards of reliability and information security according to Rosatom requirements.

Used software
  • Server infrastructure based on Astra Linux OS

  • PostgreSQL database management system

  • Mobile application for Android (version 14 and above) and iOS

  • Web-based administration interface

  • API integration with internal accounting systems

  • Information security tools compliant with Rosatom requirements

Difficulty of implementation

The main challenges were the remote location of the facility (Arab Republic of Egypt), the need to ensure uninterrupted operation in round-the-clock mode, and multilingual interface support.

An additional challenge was meeting the information security and performance requirements specific to the nuclear industry.

Thanks to clear project management and close collaboration between the client and contractor, all stages were completed on schedule, and the system was successfully deployed without downtime.

Project Description

The food order management information system was created for the JSC Atomstroyexport branch in the Arab Republic of Egypt as part of the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant construction project. Before implementation, the food accounting system was maintained manually, leading to calculation errors, duplicate orders, and lack of transparent reporting. The developed platform automates all process stages: user order placement based on work schedules and pickup locations, authorization and access management, food distribution via QR code, order delegation between users, pickup point staff operations using built-in QR code scanners, administration and analytics including XLSX report exports and plan-versus-actual analysis, as well as a trilingual interface.

The system was built according to corporate IT architecture standards and Rosatom's information security requirements. The project team ensured complete testing, including load testing, functional checks, and pilot operation. This achieved high performance and fault tolerance (response time — no more than 3 seconds, availability factor — 99.6%).
